It takes a special kind of person ...
Most of our caregivers are volunteers who receive no reward for
their compassion and dedication – other than the satisfaction of
knowing they have done their duty towards vulnerable members of
their community.
Many work in our child care centres, taking responsibility for
collecting orphaned children from school every day, and making
sure they have a midday meal and help with their homework.
Others visit those who are ill, bringing food from their own meagre
kitchens, freshly washed laundry, and water to wash the patient.
Their job would be made easier if we could fund basic
medical supplies – painkillers, antiseptic soap, towels,
bandages and bedlinen.
Others benefit from receiving food parcels as 'payment' for the
work they do.
If you believe these women [and some men] deserve recognition
and support, please make
an online donation now to help provide them with food and equipment.
They stand at the forefront of the reality of dealing
with AIDS in the community.
